. . . he made was so great! 'Are You Experienced?' cut in 1966, was amazing for its time. He seemed to have a lot of Buddy Guy and Albert King in him and he got such a thick tone, along with his amazing vibrato. From the bottom of my heart, I feel real lucky that I grew up listening particularly to Hendrix. Hendrix had such a great message that transcended the physical of the guitar. It gave you a hope for what tomorrow might promise with his message and that’s what has kept me going all these years. It’s like with Wes Montgomery - he plays one note and you’re on the ground, flipped out and you can’t believe it. It’s a real special thing.
