His use of tones was so inspiring to me, especially his rhythm sounds and the way he utilized all of the pickups on his guitar for trebly rhythms or real fat chunky rhythms. He was such a great rhythm player! His leads were real melodious, his harmonies and overdubs were good, but his timing was so amazing. His use of feedback was interesting as was just the way he squeezed his notes with emotion and dynamics. He was such a quintessential player, he didn’t just play good lead, he was a great rhythm player and he had so many pieces he’d put together to tell a story... we were listening to “Beach Blanket Bingo” and this guy comes out and totally revolutionizes guitar.
