I first heard Jimi in a friend’s car, on tape, and my reaction was, “Who in the hell is playing the guitar like that!” In my opinion, Hendrix was one of the most innovative guitarists for his time, for now, and for always. His contributions to the rock scene, music, and guitar playing in particular are as important as those of Charlie Christian, Wes Montgomery, and Johnny Smith to name a few. He sure opened my head up.
