The effect I'm trying to get is this gigantic, thick, neck pickup, flange-Stratocaster sound that Jimi Hendrix first created and Trower's "Bridge of Sighs" kind of refined. The whole idea is the way you mix the song and the way you record the guitar is supposed to make the lead guitar so big and fat that it sounds like it's coming from inside your head.
