I think the people who originated the heavy metal guitar style were people like Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. When the Cream thing started that was very important. When Jeff did the Truth album, I thought he was very important to the whole cause if you want to call it that. All those guys - Hendrix, Beck, Peter Green, Clapton are in my playing. They were the ones I grew up listening to.
