. . . player and songwriter. He was taking his music towards orchestration. He'd play a bass line and a lead at the same time and sing. He could make the guitar sound like a horn section. If you listen to "Electric Ladyland," he takes it to a completely different level where it's more of an aura. It's like watching Neil Young play. When Neil Young starts hitting a fucking note, it's like, "Where is the sound coming from?" It's larger than life. I can't express enough praise for Hendrix.
