Certain qualities of his playing projected an aura. The way he used a wah-wah pedal, especially at his peak during ‘Axis: Bold as Love’, was amazing. It’s hard to explain his influence on me, because it’s more spiritual than anything. I never say to myself, “Okay, now I’ll play like Hendrix.” But if I feel like it, I can channel his vibe through my guitar.
