I remember going to Jimi's hotel and seeing classical records on his turntable. I said, "What's all this?" He said, "Yeah man, I listen to all this stuff-Bach, Handel, and Mozart." I said, "Jimi, you impress me." He could take in all forms of music and life and put them all into his writing. Jimi's music transcends time and space. I don't think it will ever go out of fashion - it's good for the next few hundred years. He was such an innovator. 'people always think of Jimi as being that crazy guy who set his guitar on fire, but that was only a tiny portion of his act. That had nothing to do with the inner soul of his music . . .
