Hendrix was the antithesis of my influences when I started playing guitar. I was more into punk rock. I started listening to him four or five years ago-more for the production techniques and sounds. On top of being a phenomenal guitar player, he had a lot of cool studio ideas and used effects creatively. The sounds he used are as much a part of why he's great as his playing technique.
