Jimi was a just a great, natural musician - self-taught... Once he heard it he really had it down. We would be talking, and I would be telling him technical shit like, ‘Jimi, you know, when you play the diminished chord...’ I would see this lost look come into his face and I would say, ‘Okay, okay, I forgot.’ I would just play it for him . . .
